If you’re new to the fashion industry or just someone who really loves collecting shoes, you may want to know more about what’s out there.
You may be surprised to know that there’s a wide assortment of heel types you can choose from to accentuate your fabulous look.
Probably one of the most well known heel types is the stiletto. Stilettos are high heeled shoes that can reach up to 8 inches high. Learning to walk in stilettos is a bit of a challenge, but once you’ve mastered it, it can boost your confidence and make you look even sexier.
High heels, or more commonly known as pumps, are also widely used. Pumps are not as high as stilettos but can definitely enhance your posture and can highlight your legs.
Wedge heels, which can be wedge heeled shoes or sandals, have heels from the back extending continuously to the front. These heels are wedge-like, as the name implies.
Platform heels or shoes are like pumps or stilettos, but can be easier to wear because they have thick soles on the front or underneath the toe box area.
Cork heels refer more to the material used for the heels, which is cork. Cork heels may come in many forms such as wedge, platform, or pumps.
Peep-toe heels, just like cork heels, can come in many types like stilettos and pumps. The difference with peep toe shoes is that they have a small opening on the front to show your toes.
Cone heels have heels in the shape of a – you guessed it – cone. Cone heels are wide on the sole part and narrow on the base part.
Ankle strap heels can have various heights. What makes ankle strap heels different is the strap that wraps around the ankle.
Sling back strap heels, just like ankle strap heels, can have different heights but have a distinctive strap behind the ankle or heel.
Now that you’re familiar with the most common heel types, you can get a broader idea of what would go well with particular outfits. You can choose among these heels depending on what would look good on you and what would you feel comfortable wearing.
